Hereford United Supporters’ Trust are seeking to appoint a HUST member to the Board of Hereford FC to fulfil the role of a HUST Nominated Director (HND) for the next three years. The successful candidate will join two other HND’s already on the Club Board to become a full and active Director of the Football Club.
HUST notes and welcomes the appointment of Rob Crawford to the HFC Board and looks forward to building and developing a good working relationship with both him and the entirety of The Board of HFC. Robs CV speaks for itself and we are sure that he will prove to be a great asset.
The Board of HUST took the decision NOT to rush into a Nominated Director appointment after the resignation of Mick Merrick and would wait until we could ascertain the required skill sets. Now that this is resolved, HUST is pleased to be able to report that the process of selecting a Nominated Director, to fill the remaining vacancy on the HFC Board, is starting this weekend. The process is due for completion by Mid-February.
A very Happy and Healthy New Year to Bulls fans at home and abroad.
As we enter 2020 we recognise that there were a few ups and downs this past year in 2019 but it is important to remember our Club is still here. This time in January 2015 we were unable to say that.
As always, and especially today we take the opportunity to thank Kidderminster Harriers for the assistance they gave us during those dark days.
From a supporters’ point of view there were some notable events and milestones this past year.
Edgar Street – Our Home
The Supporters’ Trust applied for, and were successful, in gaining the renewal of Edgar Street Football Ground as an Asset of Community Value. The new ACV period now runs for 5 years from February 2019 til February 2024. It is eligible for renewal every 5 years. We believed we had an even stronger case than we did 5 years previous and we’re pleased to say that Herefordshire Council agreed with us.
HUST Stake-holding in our Football Club
As we commence the New Year, a further cheque for £10,000 was handed to Andrew Graham, Chair of HFC, at the recent home match v. Leamington FC on 28th December 2019, which brings the Trust’s shareholding in the club to £210,000 (a 42% stake which we hold for all supporters).
Joanie Roberts, Chair of HUST said “Every match, we go again… It may not be pretty, it may not be exciting to watch, it may be testing patience… BUT for all that, We DO HAVE A CLUB to support. 5 years ago the gates were locked.. We have the power now to keep them open for good!
Lest WE Forget… “Our greatest glory is not in never failing but in rising every time we fall”
Our Club needs our support, not only to see this season out but looking ahead to next season too and the one after that and the one after that… We are on a journey that has a few bumps in the road, some bigger than others!! We are the HFC #FootyFamily and stick together through thick and thin…
On behalf of the supporters around the globe, I would like to say goodbye to Mike Symons, another Hereford Legend who has served the Club and Bulls fans with passion, dignity and is the last of the original players from 2015. We wish Mike well in his new Club.
So 2020 sees us moving into a new decade with a lot of ground to cover and some hard work ahead. Nobody said owning and running a Football Club would be easy! We are a Community, family Club, so let’s all pull together and stay #ForeverUnited. Happy New Year and may 2020 be a positive start to the next chapter in Hereford FC history book”
SEASON’S GREETINGS TO ALL AT EDGAR STREET
HUST would like to extend season’s greetings to everyone at Edgar Street.
We’re approaching a crucial period over Christmas and New Year, where all league results show each team is capable of beating another, whatever their league position! With three home games coming up, we would like to endorse Club Chairman, Andrew Graham’s request in the Hereford Times, for supporters to stand by the team. When Edgar Street comes alive it spurs the team on and can make the difference. Here’s hoping for some exciting games!

HUST Board Appointments 2019-20
The new HUST board has met and commenced work on its 2019-20 portfolios. Breaking new ground, the Trust board has appointed Joanie Roberts as Chair, with Peter Sell as Vice-Chair.
Joanie says “It’s a privilege to be able to contribute to the Trust and Club during the next transitional phase. I thank my fellow board members for expressing their confidence. We are delighted to have strengthened the HUST Board and can now move forward with some key projects. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Richard Tomkins, retiring Chair, for his tireless work in steering HUST since taking over from Chris Williams in 2016. It has been a pleasure to work alongside him, as Vice Chair, for the past 12 months, sharing his wealth of experience and knowledge. He is a committed Bulls fan and true gentleman. We are privileged to have Richard represent HUST and Hereford supporters, on the Football Supporters’ Association National Council, where he will continue to be an Ambassador for us.”

As ever, the Trust board will be supported by a network of members and will form working groups on major projects such as fundraising, for example.
HUST notes George Webb’s decision to stand down from the HFC board at the upcoming Club AGM. We would like to thank George for his considerable contribution to Hereford FC from its very foundation, alongside his drive in bringing in significant commercial income to the Club.
Words cannot express the immense dedication that George has put in to ensure all supporters can watch the Black & White at Edgar Street.
We know that George will continue to be a supporter and that he will be able to enjoy his football from his favourite part of the ground.

HUST Annual General Meeting – New Trust Board Takes Shape
The room was packed for our AGM. Elections took place for the Trust Board 2019/20 and resolutions were considered. The following members will join Richard Tomkins, Joanie Roberts and Tony Taylor on the Trust board.
Peter is a season ticket holder and lifelong supporter of football at Edgar Street. He is a retired Bank Manager and subsequently a Company Director, with extensive experience of recruitment and staff management together with investigations in the financial sector. While having every faith in the club’s board, he strongly believes that our fans are the heart of the club and that they should have a clear and strong voice in the way the club is run.
Michael is a retired headteacher from Ledbury. He grew up in Hereford and has been a life-long supporter of the club. One of Michael’s aims for HUST is to promote the Trust and the Club in the town of Ledbury and the surrounding area.
Nigel is a retired director and owner/part owner in several businesses. He has expertise in sales, marketing and finance. A supporter since the 1990s, Nigel invested in the phoenix Hereford FC. His aims are to increase HUST membership, introduce HUST and HFC supporter forums to provide updates on current position and future needs, and to develop a 5-year plan towards Football League status whilst maintaining a sustainable club.
A supporter since 1990, Jamie served 22 years in the Army. He is a keen volunteer at the club in the role of First Aider. Jamie sees the club as part of our whole community and its triumphs and defeats affect us all. “We need to have a strong and sustainable club so that past events do not repeat themselves.”
Richard’s first match was in 1975 and he’s lived and worked in Herefordshire all his life. He’s held volunteer positions at both HUFC and HFC, including chair and vice chair of the Vice Presidents Club, host of the Executive club, secretary at HFC board meetings and Parent Liaison Officer at the HFC Academy. HEREFORD UNITED SUPPORTERS’ TRUST – SOCIETY BOARD ELECTION SEP 2019
INDEPENDENT CHAIR’S REPORT AND ELECTION RESULTS
12th September 2019
It was an honour to be asked to be the Chair of the Election Management Group and the Independent Scrutineer for the Hereford Supporters’ Trust Board Elections 2019 and it has again been an interesting experience.
Six vacancies were declared but only five nominations were received.
All the nominations were validated and therefore, as the Independent Scrutiniser, and in line with rule 8.3. of the Election Rules, I declare the following five nominees appointed subject to an affirmative vote at the HUST AGM:
As part of my role I am required to report whether the current Society Election Rules Regulations and Procedures and the Society Constitution were adhered to. I am satisfied they were though two situations encountered have prompted the EMG to recommend small changes to the Election Policy which we will pass to the Trust Board for consideration.
Best wishes, Neil Le Milliere
Independent Chair 2019
